A qualified and accredited coach has gone through a rigorous process to ensure that they meet a set of standards. Accreditation demonstrates a commitment to keeping current with and ensuring standards are maintained. To achieve this I am required to:
adhere to Codes of Conduct;
be a practicing coach;
having a current First Aid Certificate;
a state-based Working with Children Check/Blue Card;
participate in ongoing professional development activities;
keep a Certificate of Currency for Coaching Insurance;
attendance at regular Coaching Updates.
It also ensures that developing needs are addressed. Recent examples include complying with COVID Safe protocols, Risk Management and Concussion training.
Diploma of Equitation Science
This qualification covers competencies in horse behaviour, learning and biomechanics; in-hand and under-saddle training, foundation training and problem behaviour resolution. Being assessed as a coach and a workplace trainer are also features of this qualification along with being able manage risk in the equestrian environment.
